Mindfulness

Meditation (15)

Mindfulness is a core skill that can be used to alleviate stress and improve all aspects of our lives. The origin of the word ‘mindfulness’ is derived from the Buddhist philosophy of ‘sati’ which means remembering or remembering to remain aware. Mindfulness is remembering to remain aware, but it also encompasses other fundamental Buddhist principles such as non-judgment, compassion and non-striving.

Mindfulness can be practiced in many ways, but it usually consists of focusing on one’s breath or body sensations. Mindfulness is a type of meditation that can help you manage stress and live a more fulfilling life. Practicing mindfulness has been proven to improve mental well-being, decrease depression, reduce anxiety and increase awareness.

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment. It's also about living in the moment. Mindfulness is not just an idea or theory; there are practical ways to practice it in everyday life. When you're mindful of your feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations and surrounding environment - you give yourself permission to take care of yourself instead of what you think others want or need from you.
